The Leprechauns Got to Work to Create Murray's Green Shamrock Ale on St Patrick's Day

A specially-brewed green wheat beer was available on tap at The Pub With No Beer Brewery to celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Friday 17 March.

Murray’s Craft Brewing Co. Head Brewer, Graeme Mahy, affectionately known as ‘Dr G.’, busily brewed his special green Shamrock Ale, using an ancient recipe. “It’s been handed down by Leprechauns, and incorporates a special blend of herbs and spices,” he explains.

The Shamrock Ale is the first in a range of ‘unique’ specialty beers to be brewed by the creative brewer. “I enjoy experimenting, and what better way to showcase our distinctive beers!” Dr G. adds.

In addition to the green brew, The Pub With No Beer Brewery held a special St Patrick’s Weekend celebration from Friday 17 March to Sunday 19 March. “Shamrock Ale flowed until the kegs ran dry,” says Dr G.

During the weekend celebration, Murray’s Brew Crew were suitably dressed in green outfits; the Pub was decked out in the colours of the Irish flag; Chef prepared traditional Irish fare including Guinness pies, soda bread, oysters and more… And patrons jiged the night away to popular band ‘Rex, Rover & Fido’ playing a selection of Irish tunes, bluegrass and rock.
